Governor and Cities Proclaim
PT Month 2005

Colorado's governor and 30 cities helped the APTA/Colorado Chapter and Private Practice SIG celebrate PT Month during October 2005.

Gov. Bill Owens and many mayors and city councils throughout the state issued honorary proclamations of PT Month helping to raise public understanding of the value and role of physical therapy in the maintenance and restoration of health. The Private Practice SIG took the lead in coordinating proclamations and public events. At least 16 private practice clinics opened their doors on Saturday, October 15, 2005, to the public for a Free Evaluation Day in honor of the event. (See list of participating clinics below).

This year, 31 proclamations were signed by officials from various cities, including one from Gov. Bill Owens. (Alamosa, Arvada, Aspen, Basalt, Boulder, Brighton, Broomfield, Brush, Canon City, Colorado Springs, City and County of Denver, Durango, Eaton, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Fort Morgan, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, Greeley, Lafayette, Lakewood, Littleton, Louisville, Loveland, Montrose, Pueblo, Sterling, Thornton, Westminster and Wheat Ridge.) PPSIG members in the localities accepted the proclamations at public ceremonies.
